RESUMO

Polymer nanofibers have established a robust foundation and possess immense potential in various emerging fields such as sensors and biotechnology. In this study, aqueous dispersions of aramid nanofibers (ANFs) were successfully prepared by using tannic acid (TA). Morphological analysis revealed that TA effectively prevented self-aggregation of ANFs, and preserved the nanofiber structure during TA-assisted solvent exchange. Subsequently, the ANF and TA/ANF films were fabricated using casting and vacuum-assisted filtration techniques. Notably, the tensile strength of the casting TA/ANF film reached 393.8 MPa, exhibiting a remarkable improvement of 41.3% compared to that of the pure ANF film. These exceptional mechanical properties can be attributed to the well-dispersed nanostructures, hydrogen-bonding interactions, zigzag structures, and fiber-bridging effects. Furthermore, the TA/ANF film demonstrated superior ultraviolet (UV) shielding capabilities, visible transparency properties, and excellent resistance to chemical reagents. The above-mentioned interesting findings demonstrate its potential as a nanofiber-reinforced material for poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) composites.

RESUMO

Background: Pediatric obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a multifaceted disorder marked by recurrent upper airway obstruction during sleep, often coexisting with various medical conditions. This study, aimed to comprehensively analyze the Multifaceted Landscape of Pediatric Insights into Prevalence, Severity, and Coexisting Conditions. With a sample of 1928 participants, our study sought to determine the prevalence, severity, and associations between OSA and diverse conditions. Methods: Conducted retrospectively from February 2019 to April 2023, the study included pediatric patients. Data were collected through electronic health records, involving clinical assessments, medical histories, and diagnostic tests to establish OSA and coexisting condition diagnoses. Relationships between sleep parameters, apnea types, and severity indices were evaluated. Results: High OSA prevalence was evident across age groups, with severity peaking between 3 to 12 years. Among the participants, coexisting conditions included allergic rhinitis (59.6%), tonsillar hypertrophy (49.7%), adenoid hypertrophy (28.4%), and obesity (15.3%). Analysis revealed intriguing relationships between different sleep parameters and apnea types. Notable associations were observed between Obstructive Apnea (OA) and Central Apnea (CA), and Mixed Apnea (MA) displayed associations with both OA and CA. Hypopnea correlated directly with the Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI), reflecting its role in OSA severity. Conclusion: This study provides a comprehensive understanding of the intricate dynamics between pediatric OSA and coexisting conditions. The prevalence of OSA and its coexistence with various conditions underscore the need for comprehensive evaluation and management strategies. By revealing associations between different sleep parameters and apnea types, the study emphasizes the complexity of OSA diagnosis and management. These findings hold the potential to enhance clinical approaches, ultimately leading to improved care and outcomes for affected children.

RESUMO

Engineering atom-scale sites are crucial to the mitigation of polysulfide shuttle, promotion of sulfur redox, and regulation of lithium deposition in lithium-sulfur batteries. Herein, a homonuclear copper dual-atom catalyst with a proximal distance of 3.5 Å is developed for lithium-sulfur batteries, wherein two adjacent copper atoms are linked by a pair of symmetrical chlorine bridge bonds. Benefiting from the proximal copper atoms and their unique coordination, the copper dual-atom catalyst with the increased active interface concentration synchronously guide the evolutions of sulfur and lithium species. Such a delicate design breaks through the activity limitation of mononuclear metal center and represents a catalyst concept for lithium-sulfur battery realm. Therefore, a remarkable areal capacity of 7.8 mA h cm-2 is achieved under the scenario of sulfur content of 60 wt.%, mass loading of 7.7 mg cm-2 and electrolyte dosage of 4.8 µL mg-1.

RESUMO

It is currently a challenge to accurately predict the deformation and fracture behavior of metal parts in automobile crashes. Many studies have shown that the deformation and fracture behavior of materials are significantly affected by the stress state during automobile crashes with complex stress state characteristics. In order to further promote the application of die-cast magnesium alloys in automobiles, it is particularly important to study the material deformation and fracture behavior of die-cast magnesium alloys. In this paper, the mechanical properties of the AM60B die-cast magnesium alloy sheet under four stress states (shear, tension, R10 notch tension, and cupping) were designed and tested. Based on the von Mises isotropic constitutive model and Swift weighted Hockett-Sherby hardening model, the plastic constitutive model of die-cast magnesium alloy was established. Based on the plastic model and the fracture model (JC, MMC, and DIEM) considering the influence of three stress states, the deformation and fracture behavior of the AM60B die-cast magnesium alloy front-end members in three-point bending were predicted by experiments and finite element simulation. The experimental results show that the deformation mode and loading-displacement curve trend of the AM60B die-cast magnesium alloy front members are the same, the crack initiation point and crack initiation time are the same, and the crack shape is similar. The results show that the complex stress state constitutive model parameters and the DIEM fracture model obtained in this paper can accurately predict the deformation and fracture failure behavior of the AM60B die-cast magnesium alloy sheet.

RESUMO

This study aims to investigate the association between chromosomal polymorphisms and abnormalities in male reproductive health. Within the period from January 2018 to December 2022, a cohort of 10,827 males seeking fertility services at our reproductive center was selected for inclusion in this study. Peripheral blood chromosomal karyotype analysis was conducted for each participant to identify carriers of chromosomal polymorphisms, who were subsequently categorized into a polymorphism group. Additionally, a control group was constituted by randomly selecting 1,630 patients exhibiting normal chromosomal karyotypes. The study conducted statistical analyses to compare clinical outcomes between the two groups, focusing on infertility, history of spontaneous miscarriage in partners, anomalies in reproductive development, fetal abnormalities, and sperm quality metrics. (1) Among the cohort of 10,827 males, chromosomal polymorphisms were identified in 1,622 participants, yielding a detection rate of 14.98%. This rate is significantly elevated in comparison to the baseline prevalence of 1.77% observed in the general population. (2) The predominant variant among these polymorphisms was related to the Y chromosome, accounting for 1,082 cases (66.71% of the polymorphic findings), corresponding to a detection rate of 9.99%. This is markedly higher than the approximate 0.09% prevalence noted within a normative demographic. (3) Statistical analysis revealed significant disparities between the chromosomal polymorphism group and the control group in several clinical outcomes. Notably, the rates of spontaneous abortion (18.06% vs. 1.35%), fetal anomalies (1.97% vs. 0.25%), and poor sperm quality (41.74% vs. 7.18%) were markedly higher in the polymorphism group. Additionally, incidences of testicular dysgenesis (2.28% vs. 0.92%) and hypogonadism in partners (0.62% vs. 0.37%) also demonstrated significant differences, underscoring the potential reproductive implications of chromosomal polymorphisms. The study establishes a significant link between chromosomal polymorphisms and critical reproductive outcomes, including male infertility, spontaneous miscarriages in partners, fetal anomalies, and reduced sperm quality. These findings highlight the clinical relevance of chromosomal polymorphisms in reproductive health assessments and suggest the necessity for their consideration in the diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for male reproductive disorders.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Improper urethral catheterization may lead to complications such as urethral injury, catheter entanglement and urinary tract infection. Most of the related literature has focused on aseptic surgical technique, but there are no guidelines on the optimal insertion length for neonatal urinary catheterization. OBJECTIVE: To explore the external anatomical landmarks for urethral catheter positioning in male newborns. METHODS: This research is based on an observational study in Beijing Children's Hospital, China. Hospitalized male neonates who required Foley balloon catheters were prospectively enrolled in this study. The actual insertion length of the urethral catheter for male neonates and the anticipated insertion length based on anatomical landmarks were measured and compared. RESULTS: A total of 67 male neonates were enrolled. The mean body length was 50.66 ±â€¯2.93 cm, and the mean body weight was 3.33 ±â€¯0.70 kg. The mean actual insertion length of catheter was 8.77 ±â€¯0.94 cm, while the anticipated length was 10.89 ±â€¯0.95 cm. All the anticipated lengths exceeded the actual insertion length by 0.5-4.6 cm, which was deemed suitable for the procedure. CONCLUSIONS: Estimating the insertion length of urethral catheters based on external anatomical landmarks is clinically feasible. Selecting an anatomical landmark is a safe method for nurses or doctors to ensure the correct positioning of a urethral catheter. Tweetable abstract The data of 67 male neonates shows that external anatomical landmarks for urethral catheter positioning in male newborns are possible.

RESUMO

Background: Mandibuloacral dysplasia (MAD) syndrome is a rare genetic disease. Several progeroid syndromes including mandibuloacral dysplasia type A (MADA), mandibuloacral dysplasia type B(MADB), Hutchinson-Gilford progeria (HGPS) and mandibular hypoplasia, deafness, and lipodystrophy syndrome (MDPL) have been reported previously. A novel MAD progeroid syndrome (MADaM) has recently been reported. So far, 7 cases of MADaM diagnosed with molecular diagnostics have been reported in worldwide. In the Chinese population, cases of MAD associated with the MTX2 variant have never been reported. Methods: The clinical symptoms and the genetic analysis were identified and investigated in patients presented with the disease. In addition, we analyzed and compared 7 MADaM cases reported worldwide and summarized the progeroid syndromes reported in the Chinese population to date. Results: The present study reports a case of a novel homozygous mutation c.378 + 1G > A in the MTX2 gene, which has not been previously reported in the literature. Patients present with early onset and severe symptoms and soon after birth are found to have growth retardation. In addition to the progeroid features, skeletal deformities, generalized lipodystrophy reported previously, and other multisystem involvement, e.g. hepatosplenic, renal, and cardiovascular system, this case was also reported to have combined hypogammaglobulinemia. She has since been admitted to the hospital several times for infections. Among 22 previously reported progeroid syndromes, 16/22 were MADA or HGPS caused by LMNA gene mutations, and the homozygous c.1579C > T (p.R527C) mutation may be a hot spot mutation for MAD in the Chinese population. MAD and HGPS mostly present in infancy with skin abnormalities or alopecia, MDPL mostly presents in school age with growth retardation as the first manifestation, and is often combined with an endocrine metabolism disorder after several decades. Conclusion: This is the first case of MAD syndrome caused by mutations in MTX2 gene reported in the Chinese population. MTX2 gene c.378 + 1G > A homozygous mutation has not been previously reported and the report of this patient expands the spectrum of MTX2 mutations. In addition, we summarized the genotypes and clinical characteristics of patients with progeroid syndromes in China.

RESUMO

This study aimed to explore the relationship between life events and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in college students, as well as the mediating effect of sleep disturbances and psychotic-like experiences (PLEs). After excluding invalid questionnaires, 5,754 were retained, and the valid efficiency was 75.94%. The subjects were aged 16 to 29 years (M = 19.166; SD = 1.392), with 1,969 males (34.22%) and 3,785 females (65.78%). Life events, sleep disturbances, PLEs, and NSSI were assessed using standard scales. Data were analyzed by Pearson Correlation Analysis and bias-correction percentile Bootstrap method. The results show that (1) life events were significant positive predictors of NSSI, sleep disturbances, and PLEs; (2) sleep disturbances, PLEs, and the chain mediation between the two, were mediators between life events and NSSI. Life events are thus shown to be an important external factor influencing NSSI in university students, and this process is mediated through sleep disturbances, PLEs, and the chain between the two. Interventions for NSSI can therefore be made by improving college students' sleep quality and reducing PLEs.

RESUMO

RATIONALE: Retroperitoneal dedifferentiated liposarcoma (RPDDL) is an uncommon malignancy, which often remains undetected for many years due to having adequate space in the retroperitoneal cavity and lacking clinical manifestations in the early stage of the disease. Surgical procedure is usually used as the first choice for treatment. However, it is prone to local recurrence after the operation, resulting in an unfavorable prognosis. Our aim is to draw useful lessons from the new case and provide some experience for management of the disease. PATIENT CONCERNS: We describe a 55-year-old male patient who was admitted for a 3-week history of persistent dull ache of the left waist. A large mass of the left upper abdomen was palpated in physical examination. Moreover, the imaging examination revealed that the diameter of the mass was about 21 cm, and some adjacent vital organs were invaded, which brought great challenges to complete surgical resection. DIAGNOSIS: The postoperative pathological results confirmed that the mass was RPDDL with invasion of the surrounding vital structures including pancreas, spleen, left adrenal gland, left kidney, and vasculature with tumor emboli. INTERVENTIONS: Surgical resection of the mass was performed by our multidisciplinary team. The patient received chemotherapy 1 month after surgery. OUTCOMES: The effect of chemotherapy seemed to be unsatisfactory. Local multifocal recurrence of the tumor was considered about 2 months after surgery. Finally, he gave up any treatments and died of the disease. LESSONS: Regular physical examination and ultrasound screening may detect the disease as early as possible, especially for high-risk group aged 60 to 70, which should be popularized. Incomplete resection, vascular invasion, and interruption of postoperative treatment may lead to an unfavorable prognosis. Therefore, we think that patients with the disease may benefit from complete surgical resection and uninterrupted adjuvant therapy.

RESUMO

The optrA gene encodes an ABC-F protein which confers cross-resistance to oxazolidinones and phenicols. Insertion sequence ISVlu1, a novel ISL3-family member, was recently reported to be involved in the transmission of optrA in Vagococcus lutrae. However, the role of ISVlu1 in mobilizing resistance genes has not yet fully explored. In this study, two complete and three truncated copies of ISVlu1 were found on plasmid pBN62-optrA from Lactococcus garvieae. Analysis of the genetic context showed that both optrA and the phenicols resistance gene fexA were flanked by the complete or truncated ISVlu1 copies. Moreover, three different-sized ISVlu1-based translocatable units (TUs) carrying optrA and/or fexA, were detected from pBN62-optrA. Sequence analysis revealed that the TU-optrA was generated by homologous recombination while TU-fexA and TU-optrA+fexA were the products of illegitimate recombinations. Importantly, conjugation assays confirmed that pBN62-optrA was able to successfully transfer into the recipient Enterococcus faecalis JH2-2. To our knowledge, this is the first report about an optrA-carrying plasmid in L. garvieae which could horizontally transfer into other species. More importantly, the ISVlu1-flanked genetic structures containing optrA and/or fexA were also observed in bacteria of different species, which underlines that ISVlu1 is highly active and plays a vital role in the transfer of some important resistance genes, such as optrA and fexA.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) and the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO) recently released the first international consensus on the diagnostic criteria for Sarcopenic obesity (SO). The present study aimed to explore the ability of SO to predict the risk of pneumonia in patients with stable schizophrenia. METHODS: This was a prospective study involving hospitalized patients with schizophrenia aged ≥50 years from two mental health centers in western China. Baseline patient data were collected from September 1 to September 30, 2020. Follow-up data on pneumonia were collected from October 2020 to October 2022. The diagnosis of SO was based on the ESPEN/EASO criteria. Patients were assessed for handgrip strength (HGS), skeletal muscle mass/weight (SMM/W), and fat mass percentage (FM%). Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the effect of SO on the risk of pneumonia in patients with stable schizophrenia. RESULTS: A total of 320 patients with stable schizophrenia were included. Of these, 74 (23.13%) were diagnosed with SO, while 117 (36.56%) developed pneumonia. Compared with patients in the non-low HGS, non-low HGS + non-low SMM/W (or non-low HGS + low SMM/W or low HGS + non-low SMM/W) and non-SO groups, the proportions of patients with pneumonia in the low HGS (42.3% vs. 25.9%, p = 0.004), low HGS + low SMM/W (45.3% vs. 33.3%, p = 0.048), and SO (47.3% vs. 33.3%, p = 0.029) groups, respectively, were higher. However, there was no difference in the proportion of patients with pneumonia in the low SMM/W group and the obese group compared with the non-low SMM/W and non-obese groups. Further logistic regression analysis after adjustment for potential influencing factors showed that compared with the non-low HGS group, patients in the low HGS group had a higher risk of pneumonia (OR = 1.892, 95%CI: 1.096-3.264). CONCLUSION: SO defined according to the ESPEN/EASO criteria was not found to be significantly associated with the development of pneumonia in patients with stable schizophrenia. Further verification of these results is needed with larger sample sizes and the establishment of a cutoff value for this population.

RESUMO

Tea-oil tree (Camelliaoleifera Abel.) is an important edible oil woody plant with a planting area over 3,800,000 hectares in southern China. Species of Diaporthe inhabit a wide range of plant hosts as plant pathogens, endophytes and saprobes. Here, we conducted an extensive field survey in Hainan Province to identify and characterise Diaporthe species associated with tea-oil leaf spots. As a result, eight isolates of Diaporthe were obtained from symptomatic C.oleifera leaves. These isolates were studied, based on morphological and phylogenetic analyses of partial ITS, cal, his3, tef1 and tub2 gene regions. Two new Diaporthe species (D.hainanensis and D.pseudofoliicola) were proposed and described herein.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Intradialytic hypotension (IDH) is a common and serious complication in patients with Maintenance Hemodialysis (MHD). The purpose of this study is to externally verify three IDH risk prediction models recently developed by Ma et al. and recalibrate, update and present the optimal model to improve the accuracy and applicability of the model in clinical environment. METHODS: A multicenter prospective cohort study of patients from 11 hemodialysis centers in Sichuan Province, China, was conducted using convenience sampling from March 2022 to July 2022, with a follow-up period of 1 month. Model performance was assessed by: (1) Discrimination: Evaluated through the computation of the Area Under Curve (AUC) and its corresponding 95% confidence intervals. (2) Calibration: scrutinized through visual inspection of the calibration plot and utilization of the Brier score. (3) The incremental value of risk prediction and the utility of updating the model were gauged using NRI (Net Reclassification Improvement) and IDI (Integrated Discrimination Improvement). Decision Curve Analysis (DCA) was employed to evaluate the clinical benefit of updating the model. RESULTS: The final cohort comprised 2235 individuals undergoing maintenance hemodialysis, exhibiting a 14.6% occurrence rate of IDH. The externally validated Area Under the Curve (AUC) values for the three original prediction models were 0.746 (95% CI: 0.718 to 0.775), 0.709 (95% CI: 0.679 to 0.739), and 0.735 (95% CI: 0.706 to 0.764) respectively. Conversely, the AUC value for the recalibrated and updated columnar plot model reached 0.817 (95% CI: 0.791 to 0.842), accompanied by a Brier score of 0.081. Furthermore, Decision Curve Analysis (DCA) exhibited a net benefit within the threshold probability range of 15.2% to 87.1%. CONCLUSION: Externally validated, recalibrated, updated, and presented IDH prediction models may serve as a valuable instrument for evaluating IDH risk in clinical practice. Furthermore, they hold the potential to guide clinical providers in discerning individuals at risk and facilitating judicious clinical intervention decisions.

RESUMO

Wounds in harsh environments can face long-term inflammation and persistent infection, which can slow healing. Wound spray is a product that can be rapidly applied to large and irregularly dynamic wounds, and can quickly form a protective film in situ to inhibit external environmental infection. In this study, a biodegradable A and B combined multi-functional spray hydrogel is developed with methacrylate-modified chitosan (CSMA1st ) and ferulic acid (FA) as type A raw materials and oxidized Bletilla striata polysaccharide (OBSP) as type B raw materials. The precursor CSMA1st -FA/OBSP (CSOB-FA1st ) hydrogel is formed by the self-cross-linking of dynamic Schiff base bonds, the CSMA-FA/OBSP (CSOB-FA) hydrogel is formed quickly after UV-vis light, so that the hydrogel fits with the wound. Rapid spraying and curing provide sufficient flexibility and rapidity for wounds and the hydrogel has good injectability, adhesive, and mechanical strength. In rats and miniature pigs, the A and B combined spray hydrogel can shrink wounds and promote healing of infected wounds, and promote the enrichment of fibrocyte populations. Therefore, the multifunctional spray hydrogel combined with A and B can protect irregular dynamic wounds, prevent wound infection and secondary injury, and be used for safe and effective wound treatment, which has a good prospect for development.

RESUMO

Dietary polyphenols are reported to alleviate colitis by interacting with gut microbiota which plays an important role in maintaining the integrity of the intestinal barrier. As a type of dietary polyphenol, whether ligustroside (Lig) could alleviate colitis has not been explored yet. Here, we aimed to determine if supplementation of ligustroside could improve colitis. We explored the influence of ligustroside intake with different dosages on colitis induced with dextran sulfate sodium (DSS). Compared to the DSS group, supplementation of ligustroside could reduce body weight (BW) loss, decrease disease activity indices (DAI), and relieve colon damage in colitis mice. Furthermore, ligustroside intake with 2 mg/kg could decrease proinflammatory cytokine concentrations in serum and increase immunoglobulin content and antioxidant enzymes in colon tissue. In addition, supplementation of ligustroside (2 mg/kg) could reduce mucus secretion and prevent cell apoptosis. Also, changes were revealed in the bacterial community composition, microbiota functional profiles, and intestinal metabolite composition following ligustroside supplementation with 2 mg/kg using 16S rRNA sequencing and non-targeted lipidomics analysis. In conclusion, the results showed that ligustroside was very effective in preventing colitis through reduction in inflammation and the enhancement of the intestinal barrier. Furthermore, supplementation with ligustroside altered the gut microbiota and lipid composition of colitis mice.

RESUMO

In this study, the effect of pre-drying and post-frying holding treatments on the oil absorption and the quality of the fried batter-coated peanuts were explored. The results showed that hot air drying and microwave drying induced the gelatinization of starch in the batter before frying. The thermodynamic properties of starch in the batter after frying indicated that pre-drying could protect the orderliness of the starch. CLSM images showed that the pre-drying treatment reduced the number of large oil spots on the surface of batter of fried batter-coated peanuts. SEM observation revealed that the structure of the batter treated with pre-drying was denser and the number of large pores was reduced after frying. The post-frying holding treatment improved the color and texture of the batter-coated peanuts. In conclusion, the pre-drying and post-frying holding treatment can reduce the oil content and improve the fracturability of the fried batter-coated peanuts.

RESUMO

Fibrotic scars play important roles in tissue reconstruction and functional recovery in the late stage of nervous system injury. However, the mechanisms underlying fibrotic scar formation and regulation remain unclear. Casein kinase II (CK2) is a protein kinase that regulates a variety of cellular functions through the phosphorylation of proteins, including bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4). CK2 and BRD4 participate in fibrosis formation in a variety of tissues. However, whether CK2 affects fibrotic scar formation remains unclear, as do the mechanisms of signal regulation after cerebral ischemic injury. In this study, we assessed whether CK2 could modulate fibrotic scar formation after cerebral ischemic injury through BRD4. Primary meningeal fibroblasts were isolated from neonatal rats and treated with transforming growth factor-ß1 (TGF-ß1), SB431542 (a TGF-ß1 receptor kinase inhibitor) or TBB (a highly potent CK2 inhibitor). Adult SD rats were intraperitoneally injected with TBB to inhibit CK2 after MCAO/R. We found that CK2 expression was increased in vitro in the TGF-ß1-induced fibrosis model and in vivo in the MCAO/R injury model. The TGF-ß1 receptor kinase inhibitor SB431542 decreased CK2 expression in fibroblasts. The CK2 inhibitor TBB reduced the increases in proliferation, migration and activation of fibroblasts caused by TGF-ß1 in vitro, and it inhibited fibrotic scar formation, ameliorated histopathological damage, protected Nissl bodies, decreased infarct volume and alleviated neurological deficits after MCAO/R injury in vivo. Furthermore, CK2 inhibition decreased BRD4 phosphorylation both in vitro and in vivo. The findings of the present study suggested that CK2 may control BRD4 phosphorylation to regulate fibrotic scar formation, to affecting outcomes after ischemic stroke.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect and prognosis of transcatheter arterial chemoembolisation (TACE) combined with lenvatinib and cabozantinib in the treatment of advanced unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC) and identify the predictors of prognosis related to cellular inflammation and body mass index (BMI). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to report the efficacy and prognosis of TACE combined with lenvatinib and cabozantinib in patients with uHCC and propose the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) as predictors of response and survival outcomes in this context. METHODS: The clinicopathologic data of 217 patients with advanced uHCC who underwent TACE combined with systemic therapy (lenvatinib mesylate + cabozantinib) in the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Dazhou Central Hospital between October 2017 and February 2020 were collected retrospectively, and the relevant parameters were analysed and compared. RESULTS: Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that BMI, NLR, PLR and prothrombin time were independent factors for the objective response rate (ORR) of transformed therapy for uHCC (OR = 0.812 vs 1,290.68 vs 1.067 vs 0.626, 95 % CI: 0.719-0.897 vs 108.081-11,541.137 vs 1.037-1.099 vs 0.414-0.946, respectively, p < 0.05). The results showed that BMI, NLR and PLR had certain predictive values for the ORR in patients with liver cancer undergoing translational therapy (p < 0.05); the combined predictive effect of the three was the best, and the area under the curve (AUC) of BMI + NLR + PLR for predicting the ORR in patients with liver cancer undergoing translational therapy was 0.951 (95 % CI: 0.921, 0.964). A total of 181 patients experienced adverse reactions at different grades, including 104 cases at grade 1, 50 cases at grade 2, 22 cases at grade 3 and 5 cases at grade 4. There was a significant difference in overall survival (OS) between low- and high-NLR groups, low- and high-PLR groups and low- and high-BMI groups (χ2 = 9.644, 8.313 and 10.314, respectively, p < 0.05). There was a significant difference in progression-free survival (PFS) between the low- and high-NLR groups, the low- and high-PLR groups and the low- and high-BMI groups (χ2 = 8.965, 9.783 and 6.343, respectively, p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Transcatheter arterial chemoembolisation combined with lenvatinib and cabozantinib is safe and effective in the treatment of advanced uHCC, with controllable adverse reactions. High NLR and PLR and low BMI values before treatment were independent risk factors for the ORR. Body mass index, NLR and PLR predicted responses to triple switch therapy and survival outcomes in uHCC. Patients with pretreatment NLR ≥ 2.96 and PLR ≥ 184.41 had worse OS and PFS rates. Patients with pretreatment BMI ≥ 23 kg/m2 had improved OS and a reduced risk of death.

RESUMO

This study investigated the effects of co-fermentation of T. delbrueckii and S. cerevisiae on the volatile composition and sensory characteristics of blueberry wines. Mixed fermentation led to higher levels of terpenes, higher alcohols, and esters compared to wines fermented with each yeast individually. Conversely, when T. delbrueckii were physically separated from S. cerevisiae in the double-compartment fermenter, contrasting outcomes emerged. The stronger fruity aroma induced by mixed fermentation were linked to higher ester concentrations, including isoamyl acetate, ethyl isovalerate, ethyl hexanoate, and diethyl succinate. The enhanced esters in mixed fermentation can be attributed to the upregulated alcohol acyltransferase activity and the expressions of ACC1, FAS2, ELO1 and ATF1 genes in late fermentation stage via the cell-cell contact between T. delbrueckii and S. cerevisiae. These findings can deepen the understanding of the interaction between non-Saccharomyces and S. cerevisiae in ester production, assisting wineries in effectively controlling wine aroma through mixed fermentations.
